Circuit
Training |
|
Circuit training has become
increasingly popular; the reason being, that it provides a
one-stop exercise session, combining
cardiovascular
activity, toning and resistance training. There have been
several reports recently, about the many benefits you can
derive from attending circuit training even just once or
twice a week Studies have concluded that, you can
dramatically improve your
fitness
level by taking part in circuit training exercises.
Circuit training is psychologically rewarding. Whatever
your level of fitness, you can really push yourself and
set your own goals in the knowledge that you’ve only got
60 seconds worth of any activity before you move on to the
next.
The benefits of taking part in circuit training can be
summed up in a few words:
“Maximum results in the minimum time”. It is probably one
of the best methods of exercising as it provides excellent
all round fitness, tone and strength. |

Body
Balance |
|
Body Balance is the Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates workout that
builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling
centered and calm. Controlled breathing, concentration and
a carefully structured series of stretches, moves and
poses to music create a holistic workout that brings the
body into a state of harmony and balance.
Body Balance will help to keep you healthy because it
integrates and balances all the body systems. It keeps the
body supple, stretches the spine, and strengthens the
muscles and massages vital organs.
Body Balance is a natural form of stress release and an
excellent form of preventative medicine bringing the body,
mind and emotions into harmony.
Regular practice will lead to heightened physical
co-ordination and balance between the left and right,
front and back, top and bottom sides of the body. Often
one side of the body is more flexible. We experience
injury, pain and discomfort when the body is asymmetrical.
Body Balance helps to restore symmetry, providing strength
and flexibility in a balanced way. Poise and concentration
also improve. |

Aquarobics
|
|
Aquarobics may also be called aqua
aerobics or water aerobics. It is essentially comparable
to an aerobics class set in a gym, but instead takes place
in a pool.
Traditional aerobics classes cause
significant stress to the body because the feet are
landing on hard wood, or worse, concrete floors.
Aquarobics, because it takes place in water, means less
impact to the bones and joints. Additionally, aquarobics
is a bit more work for the body because one has to move
one’s body through the resistance of water, which burns
more calories, more quickly. A thirty-minute jog on land
will burn about 240 calories, while the same jog in the
water will burn about 100 calories more. |

Swiss Ball |
|
What makes this piece of fitness equipment so uniquely
effective? It works multiple muscles at one time while
forcing your body to balance itself. This creates a very
effective and challenging workout. For example, lying on a
bench to perform tricep extensions is a good exercise but
it’s limited to working primarily just the triceps.
However, perform that same move on a stability ball and
you have created an unstable environment. Additional
muscles are activated that work to keep you balanced on
the ball. That means you are now working harder and
essentially getting more bang for your buck while not
increasing your exercise time.
So, if you haven’t already gotten on the ball, it’s time
to give it a try. You may think that your workout already
provides everything you need but chances are you are
focusing the majority of your exercise time on the lower
body. It is essential to concentrate fitness time on your
core, which is responsible for stabilizing the rest of
your body. Having a strong core improves your performance
in all activities, not just exercise but also daily
activities like carrying groceries. The ball can help
improve your posture, balance, and core strength.
Virtually every exercise performed on the ball works your
core area. And, yes, it can even help you get that
sought-after six-pack! |

Pilates
|
|
By working in
the deep architectural structure of the body 'core
stability' is achieved, and then maintained through
increasingly complex movement sequences. The body becomes
long, lean and strong. The body is slender, but with a
hidden strength under a healthy muscle tone. We retrain
the body to work efficiently with minimal effort and no
tension. Stamina and co-ordination are improved. The body
comes in to perfect balance and alignment, with the result
that the immune system is stimulated and the level of
general health very often rises because the internal
organs can now sit and function correctly. |

Benefits of The Green Health Club
>
>
Socialisation. Joining us at the Green health club several
times a week means that you will probably meet many
different members, most with goals that are similar to
yours. It may be fun to compare goals or methods or exchange
ideas with others who are there for the same reasons. After
a few visits you will get to know others by name, and they
will know you, reinforcing the sense of membership that you
will enjoy from going to The Green for
exercise.
